PSAT 8/9 Testing

We are thrilled to offer your student the opportunity to take the PSAT 8/9 with us this year. Rest assured, your student’s test score will only be shared with our school and school district. The primary purpose of this test is to provide a baseline for your student as they begin preparing for the SAT in high school.

The score report your student will receive includes their Total score, Reading and Writing score, and Math score. It will also show how your student performed compared to others who took the test. For example, if your student scored in the 75th percentile, it means they scored as high or higher than 75% of the students who took the test. Additionally, the score report will provide a detailed breakdown of your student’s performance across the eight content domains tested by the PSAT 8/9.

The report also features a snapshot of growing careers in Alaska, highlighting one career from each of the six interest areas that show growth in the state. Please note that these career examples are the same on every student’s score report and do not reflect individual scores.
