CMS Boys Flag Football
Flag football is a great opportunity for middle-school age athletes to learn hard work, teamwork, and the basics of the game of football. Flag football is played 7 on 7 with an emphasis on skills and strategy. We are excited to offer flag football here at CMS for the fourth year, and we are looking forward to a fun and competitive season. If you have any questions about flag football, please don't hesitate to reach out to one of the coaches,
We will have TRYOUTS April 12-14, 2:30-4:00pm. A varsity team will be selected for each grade level. All other players will be divided into JV teams for each grade level.
JV teams will practice everyday, 2:30-4:00pm. Varsity players will practice 2:30-4:45pm.
Flag Football begins April 12. Please register your athlete in Big Teams.

Greetings CMS Flag Football Families,
We are grateful for the opportunity that you have given us to coach your young men and women. We are looking forward to getting to know them and we anticipate a fun and productive season.
We want to take a minute to cover and clarify a few quick details about the season. JV practice will be every day after school, 2:30-4:00. Varsity practice will be 2:30-4:45pm. We will not have practice on game days or if there is no school. Players need to be picked up by 4:10 at the latest (varsity by 4:55). If a situation arises, please do not hesitate to contact us, so we can make arrangements if necessary.
The goal is to have games on Thursdays or Fridays, but ultimately field availability will determine when games are played. We will pass along the details regarding dates, locations and times as soon as we have received them. Players will ride the bus to all away games (so long as buses are available). Players need to be picked up from the field after their games.
Players will stay after school for home games. They will sit together as a team and support our other teams if they don’t play first. If an exception needs to be made, please communicate with us prior to the game.
Players need to have the following equipment:
- BLACK shorts or athletic pants (no pockets are strongly recommended)
- MOUTH GUARD (REQUIRED! Mouth guards should be Colony colors whenever possible)
- Cleats (optional but STRONGLY RECOMMENDED)
- Receiver gloves (Helpful but not necessary. School colors are greatly preferred)
We respectfully ask that everyone keep in mind that this is only our fourth year of flag football and that there will be a lot for all of us to continue to learn along the way. We will do our best to gather as much information as possible and get it out to you as soon as we have it. We will be communicating via SPORTSYOU throughout the season, but email is the best way to contact the coaches. We are very excited to have the opportunity to build a flag football program here at CMS, but please give us grace along the way as we navigate new territory. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. Our desire is to keep you informed as best we can, and you may very well be asking questions that we haven’t thought of yet, which will be very helpful to us.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Respectfully,
Coach Fischer, Coach Nisbett, Coach Moser, Coach Cavanaugh
