Cross Country Information
Cross Country Running!!
Our coaches this year are Christy Marvin, Dan Miles, and Phil Nisbett.
We hit the ground running, so practice starts August 15th, the first day of school!
Each school day, practice will run from 2:15 PM - 3:45 PM.
Runners need to be picked up promptly by 3:45 PM. A Coach is required to stay until all athletes are picked up. Please be respectful of our time and pick up your child promptly at the end of practice.
We are not going to send home paper copies with meet information this year. We are going to provide information on the Cross Country website that you can find under athletics on the Colony Middle School website. Simply go to www.matsuk12.us/cms and click on the three bars in the upper right hand corner, then select Athletics and Activities then CMS Athletics and finally Cross Country. Meet information and other announcements will be located here. Check here first if you have a question. If it is not answered here feel free to reach out to one of us coaches by email.
Our goal is to encourage a love of running, establish healthy habits for life and earn success through the accomplishment of personal goals. With these goals in mind, runners can expect to run 3-5 miles a day between warm-ups, drills, games and cool-downs. We do have fun staying in shape!
In order to participate, students must register online, pay the sports fee, and have a physical on file with the office.

We are going to use the remind app this year to help direct parents and athletes to our website for information. To sign up you need to text the code @6fdbc2 to the number 81010.

For meets not held at Colony, runners will take a bus from school to the meet but will need to be picked up and taken home from the race venue.
Additional details will be provided on this website prior to each race.
