6th Grade Boys Basketball
6th Grade Boys Basketball
There are no tryouts in order to play 6th-grade basketball. In order to play, you must sign up on Big Teams, pay the sports fee, and have a current physical on file at CMS. The goal of 6th-grade basketball is to develop fundamental basketball skills, practice sportsmanship, and develop a sense of fair play and teamwork. To this end, the 6th-grade players will be divided into heterogeneous (mixed-ability) teams for the season.

Greetings 6th Grade Boy Basketball Families,
We are grateful for the opportunity that you have given us to coach your young men. We are looking forward to getting to know them and we anticipate a fun and productive season.
I want to take a minute to cover and clarify a few quick details about the season. Practice will be every day after school, 2:30-4:00. Players need to be picked up by 4:10 at the latest. If a situation arises, please do not hesitate to contact me, so we can make arrangements if necessary.
We are using the Band app this year for communication. This is the first year we are trying this so please be patient with us. That being said, Band should be the best place to find up to date information.
Regarding games, our first game is coming up on Monday, November 25, at Wasilla Middle School. Games will be played jamboree style with each team playing two games on scheduled game day. We will send out the specific game day schedules as soon as we receive them from the host school. Players will ride the bus to all away games. Players need to be picked up from the gym after their game. Players will stay after school for home games. They will sit together as a team and support our other teams if they don’t play first. If an exception needs to be made, please communicate with us prior to the game.
Players need dress nice for all games, home or away. This includes but is not limited to, a dress shirt or polo with a collar, a pair of dress pants, and the player’s nicest shoes, preferably dress shoes. If there are any questions or issues with the expectations for game days, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We will be happy to work with anyone that needs flexibility, but our goal is for the players to look nice and represent their family, their school, and their teams well.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Respectfully,
Coach Fischer and Coach Phil
